Funky Chicken is the kind of game that tries to make the experience fun for the player, and it uses comedy for the purpose. As for the actual theme, we have an angry farmer that’s using a shotgun to protect his crops from a funky chicken. It’s not the first farm themed game that I see, but it’s one of the few that looks funny as well. With 5 reels spinning each round, the game has 25 lines to give you, and you can activate those as you need to. You get payouts of up to $50,000 if your wagers are big enough, and like features, the game puts forward symbols with wild or scatter abilities, as well as free spins that will have a random multiplier.

Betting requirements

I’d suggest you go with the maximum number of lines if you can afford it, which would require a wager of 25 coins per round. The value of the coins can vary considerably, so beautiful much all regular budgets can be accommodated. They range from a minimum of $0.01 and the maximum of $10, so the total bets are also changeable, between $0.25 and $250.

Theme & Design

We’re looking at a cartoon style farming theme, clearly meant to be funny, not just representative for the topic. The story involves two main characters, the funky chicken, and the angry farmer, both being symbols that you’re going to see on the reels. Some of the symbols are related, with the scarecrow in the field of corn, with the house, the tractor or the egg, while others are just standard Royals, not fun at all to look at. Look at the background, and you’re going to get more of the same thing, images of the corn field which the farmer seems to be trying to protect from the chicken. The style of the design is half caricature/half cartoon, at least where those two main characters are concerned. I’ve enjoyed most symbols, the exceptions being the poker logos obviously.

Special Features

The Cornfield, which has a scarecrow on it, will be in the game as the wild element. You can use these symbols in combination with all sorts of symbols, the regular kind only, though. Scatter symbols can’t get help from it. The wild symbols may be used by players as part of combinations only when they land in the right spot. Another possibility is having between two, and five wild Cornfield symbols arranged like a regular combo so that they can deliver a prize of their own. It’s the best prize of the game actually, getting up to 5,000 coins. The Funky Chicken has the other role that has become a classic in slot machines, that of the scatter. Its role gives it its name, since it can appear scattered on the reels, on different lines, and it still delivers prizes and a feature. The prizes need you to get at least two Funky Chickens in view, while the feature needs three or more. You can win up to 100x total bet, so up to 2,500 coins. Once the free spins start, you will have initial 15 rounds to go through, with the chance to retrigger them in the same manner that you got them initially. Before the free spins begin, the Chicken will appear and will give you a multiplier, which will be used for the wins obtained during the free spins. If you retrigger the feature, you will keep playing with the same initial multiplier. I haven’t found that much to be impressed with feature wise. You do have a random multiplier for the free spins, but other than that it’s the same type of action that you will see in hundreds of other slot machines.

Jackpot

The game is going to deliver payouts of up to $50,000, the reward consisting of 5,000 coins at best, at least during the paid spins. The free spins get multipliers so that the reward could be improved further. We’ve found out the average RTP as well for you, and unfortunately, it’s only at 94.62%. It’s not a bad number if you compare it with an offline slot machine, but for an online one, you’d want it to be at least at 96%, to be considered better than average.

Conclusion

Funky Chicken has its good sides, mostly in its humor and the way they made the dated look work for it. I’m not excited about the features that are offered, or about the average RTP that it has. Overall, play it for a laugh, but I don’t think you should invest a lot of time and money in it.
