About Hot Shot Progressive Slot Machine

Hot Shot was created by Bally Technologies and it is one of the simpler slot machines that they have to offer, at least theme wise. The game is based on the classics, symbol wise at least, but with a more modern layout and features in place. In Hot Shot, the 5 reels of the slot have 20 fixed lines available. There are multiple jackpots to be won, one of them even reaching a top value of $4,000,000. You will also have a bonus feature inside, plus wild symbols, scatters and multipliers that can get as high as 49x.

Betting requirements

Hot Shot gets 20 win lines and it gives you the option to change only the line bet. It’s a fairly large range though, starting at $0.01 and getting up to $20. The total stake is just as forgiving or punishing on your budget, depending on how you set it up. You can spend between $0.20 and $400 each spin.

Hot Shot Slot Theme & Design

As was the case for a lot of other slot machines, the classics were an inspiration for Hot Shot as well. Many of its symbols are just clones of the oldies, with images on them that will show you red 7s, flaming 7s, dollar signs, golden bells, as well as single, double or triple logos. Even the jackpot symbols that are in use will take advantage of the same type of image, though it will show it in triple numbers. There is a bit of a fire theme going on here as well, which you can see in some of the symbols and in the background picture. You have a wall of moving flames for the background, a gold border going around the reels. The reels themselves are in a simple white. I did not enjoy the graphics, and the fact that the theme is a classic was only partially to blame for that. The quality of the design is also not too impressive, sort of boring actually. It doesn’t exactly look like an old game, but it’s not some modern masterpiece either.

Hot Shot Slot Machine Special Features

The base game is actually very simple, with symbols that are forming your regular combinations most of the time, the ones that are borrowed from the classic slots. The action gets interesting only when you land three or more scatter symbols of certain types, the ones which also provide you the jackpots mentioned at the top of the screen. You have the Blazing 7s Seven Times Pay, the Triple Jackpot, Double Jackpot, Diamond Line and Blazing 7s symbols, all of them scatters, on the reels 1 through 5 (one per reel). You need three of them visible, in position on the reels on the center line or near it, to get access to the feature they call Game-In Game. The symbols I just mentioned all have a logo and a mini slot with 3 reels on them. Those mini slots have their own symbols and payouts to give, depending on which of the scatters you got there. The Blazing 7s symbol will have a maximum payout of $4,000 on its mini slot, during the Game-in-Game feature. The other mini slots can deliver payouts of up to $20,000, $40,000, $400,000 and $4,000,000. Wild symbols with multipliers are available at three of the mini slot machines. The Double Jackpot has the first one, with multipliers at 2x for one wild and 4x for two. The Triple jackpot has the multipliers at 3x and 9x. The final mini slot, with the Blazing 7s Seven Times Pay, will apply the multipliers of 7x and 49x (two wilds). One of the feature symbols, the Double Jackpot Logo, will be available as a wild and it will be the first one to provide some sort of multiplier as well. Having it part of any combination will get you double the usual prize for one symbol, or quadruple the amount with two of them.

Hot Shot Jackpot

The potential for wins in this game is huge, but it’s something that you get only during certain features that you have to trigger first. With prizes potentially reaching even values of $$4,000,000, the game should be a good motivator for most players. The downside of the game comes from its average RTP, which is at only 94.03%. It’s too low for a modern game and it’s probably influenced heavily by the maximum jackpot of $4,000,000, which you can’t really count on getting, even in the long run. Most players will probably have a much lower RTP as a result.

Conclusion

Hot Shot’s average RTP makes it a bad choice, and I can’t say that the graphics or theme do anything to make it better. It’s got some unusual features, but I don’t think that it’s enough.
