Quick Hit Platinum is a game with a modern layout and features that seem unique, yet at the same time it will be a classic title theme wise, with symbols that are taken straight out of the oldest brick and mortar slots. The game is offered by Bally, a company that has a bit of a history with this sort of game, that visually doesn’t impress at all, but which manages to be interesting in other areas. For this particular game, Bally chose to use 30 lines, all of them active, as they do in most titles. They also went with huge top payouts, some as high as 5,000 times total stake, which in this case could mean as much as $2,250,000. Among some of the other big pros that it has, I’d also count the scatter symbols, wilds or the free spins it offers.
Because you have a fixed number of lines, 30 of them each round, and because you have line bets that are between $0.01 and $15, in the end you can end up spending anywhere from $0.30 to $450 per round. It’s a big enough range, which allows all players to try the game out, even with a very small amount to see what it’s about.
Theme wise, Quick Hit Platinum has one of the more boring topics they could’ve went with. There are probably hundreds of slot machines out there, which have the same symbols, or at least very similar ones to those present here. The inspiration comes from classic pub slots, and so the symbols are a mix of logos, fruits and other related images. In the order in which I see them on the paytable, the game has a Wild Jackpot Logo, a Triple 7, a Double 7, a Single 7, a 5 Bar, a Bar, Golden Bells, Cherries and various logos which deliver huge payouts or free spins. The design is in line with what I’m used to seeing in the Bally slot collection. It’s good enough to do the job, but due to the choice of symbols it is not very attractive in the end. With fruits and logos only on the reels, and with a surrounding design which seems to be made out of silver or steel, there isn’t much there to get your attention and keep it.
A symbol that I’d like to mention immediately is the scatter marked Bonus Free Games. Predictably enough, it’s the symbol that gets you into the free spins mode. Three such symbols are needed, in scattered spots on the reels, and if you have them you get the wager of the spin back plus the free spins. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels are going to have these symbols on them. The scatter symbols need to be within one position of the first line, or on it. Once you meet the requirements, you have a grid with a total of 20 tiles that have question marks on them. You pick from them until you get three that are identical. There are six possible outcomes, the extremes being 5 spins with 2x multipliers, and 20 spins with 3x multipliers. The wild symbol is not going to be missing from this game, and you may use it on any active line, as a replacement for another symbol. This can happen as long as it doesn’t have to replace one of the scatters. Besides the scatter that gives you free spins, there are also two others which you can use to get paid, and very well. The main one is called Quick Hit Platinum, and you can have it on all reels. With three, four or five such symbols visible, you will get a reward which is at 2x, 25x or 5,000x(!) total stake. This is the one symbol that can make you a millionaire in this slot. The last scatter symbol has the image of the Quick Hit logo and it needs to appear 3 to 9 times, probably on the middle three reels, before it can pay you. The rewards can reach 2,000x total stake, which is still an incredible return on the investment you’re making per spin.
The biggest prize obtained from the scatters is worth 5,000x total bet, so up to $2,250,000 in a game like this. The regular combinations will pay up to $37,500 only, which is 2,500x the line bet. Despite the huge amounts that are being mentioned on the paytable, the average RTP is at just 94.06%, and this should give you an idea of the likelihood of having one of those big jackpots drop.
Even though you have very large rewards to go after, I wouldn’t recommend this game, since its RTP tells you the odds of making a profit from it in the long run. If you’re feeling extremely lucky, then you might want to try it out.
